The rituals practiced at funeral they are meant to facilitate the transition to the afterlife. That is why they are completed by rituals used in memorials and memorials, being thus combined with the Cult of the Elders and ancestors.
The main things needed to make a memorial are: prescura, coil, wine, cage, incense and candles. Likewise, at the memorials, the relatives of the deceased bring to the church 9 heads, 9 candles, wine, cage, prescura and oil. The heads are worn either all at once or three times.
Funeral cake, sacrifice of the spirit of wheat, specific to agrarian peoples, is specially prepared in funeral ceremonies and rituals to commemorate the dead.
coils they are "the pair of the soul without which it cannot integrate among the nation of the carried."
Main 3 funeral rolls, called prescura, head (s) and archangel they are necessary during the funeral service and are distributed to the persons present at the funeral ritual of burial or burial, after the sanctification of the products.
A. Wafer it is a liturgical bread that represents the main material from which the Holy Communion and the Holy Anaphora are prepared, together with wine and water. Prescura goes to the church where he is used by the priest before the Holy Mass.
B. "Heads" or "Rolls of the dead" is prepared from bread dough, in odd numbers, in different shapes: round, in the shape of the letters S, in the shape of 8, in the shape of a wheel, cross, hand, in the shape of a bird (master), etc. In Bucovina they become very large and are called "notches" (due to their notched braid).
Currently, most funeral homes offer for funeral packages of "alms" (dead coils), weighing between 8 kg and 15 kg and contain an odd number of coils of different shapes: ladder, cross, yoke, S, 8 coils , 9 coils and 9 pigeons / puppets.
"The heads" or "Rolls of the dead" are offered as a reward to the priest and to those who performed a function during the funeral ceremony, memorial service and remembrance. Their name suggests their meaning of offering and their ancient origin.
C. Archangel is the burial ring containing the "swastika" - a Dacian symbol used since ancient times. Some coils contain the cross cut at the ends of the crescent and intersected by the swastika thus symbolizing the afterlife. Therefore, in funeral rituals, the swastika acts as a guardian of the keys and gates of the other world.
The liturgical bread called "prescura" is the main material from which Holy Communion and Holy Anaphora are prepared.
The word prescura comes from the Greek "prosphora" and means sacrifice, offering, bringing or putting forward.
Prescura - proskura, prosfora - is a small, round bread made of leavened dough.
The pretzels must comply with certain quality requirements: to be prepared from white wheat flour, with natural water, suitable for salting, leavened, well baked, with natural taste.

What a sin or uncleanness a natural leak has
"It would be just as if someone wanted to blame the secretion that is eliminated through the nostrils and the spitting that is eliminated through the mouth. And then if we believe that man is the creature of the hands of God, according to the divine Scriptures, how could pure power be made a defiled thing? "If we are God's people," according to the divine Acts of the Apostles (17: 28-29), "then we have nothing unclean in us." for only then do we defile ourselves when we commit the most stinking sin. And when there is an involuntary natural leak, then the need for nature, as I said, in addition to the others, we also suffer from this & # 8230 ”
Delta Feast, 5th Edition & # 8211 Activities Schedule April 22-29
The Feast of the Delta, 5th edition, is waiting for you with a program dedicated to all ages, at the Open Air Museum in Dumbrava Sibiului.
Delta Feast: Made fishing gear for children - at Cherhanaua in Mahmudia April 22-29, 14-16
The story of the Lipovan fishing village will be enriched during this period with demonstrations highlighting the fishing and household tools that define any archaic household in Mila 23. Thus, between April 22 and 29 the little ones are expected at the interactive fishing workshop at the cherhanaua in Mahmudia where they will learn how to make their own fishing rod. The three fishermen from Mile 23 will reveal to the children other secrets of net fishing and will help them catch fish from the lake in the Open Air Museum. The workshop will take place every day except Sunday from 2 pm to 4 pm and is done only by prior appointment at the phone number 0740.708.214.
Delta Feast: Preschool at the Mahmudia Fisherman's Oven, April 22, 10 am-4pm
The bread oven with hob from the Fishermen's Farm from Mahmudia, Tulcea County, will be put into operation, respecting traditional techniques (yellow earth soldering and other repairs that are done annually). The moment of the prescuri from the “Delta Festival” aims to restore the wheat road from harvesting to baking bread, for the purpose of ritual consumption, regardless of the community. The ingredients, gestures, words and tools used in the process (water, flour, salt, fire, stone, prestolnicul, carpador, covata, oven) will again make sense with the help of people, in the religious context of the Easter holidays.
On the eve of the holidays, the oven was prepared, cleaned, glued with clay and baking was started with the prescures for the church. The stages of preparing the prescures were necessarily accompanied by the state of bodily and soul purity, prayers and the sign of the cross. In the form of a leavened bread (cross or round), the prescura bears the seal with the initials of the name of Jesus Christ, the Conqueror of Death (NIKA). It is brought to the service of the Holy Mass in the morning is offered as a matter (along with wine) from which the priest prepares the gifts for the Holy Communion, the Body and Blood of the Savior. In the traditional Romanian village, the prescuri were baked by an old woman, a widow or by the village priest, and in the monasteries it was the special duty of a monk or nuns.
Ingredients: 1kg of flour
500 ml of lukewarm water
yeast or a mayonnaise cake
a teaspoon of fine salt
prestolnic (pistornic), with IIS / HR / NI / KA seal
Preparation: put the flour in a wooden bowl and pour the lukewarm water. Put the yeast / mayonnaise cake in lukewarm water an hour before kneading, then add salt and mix with the flour and water in the bowl until you get a fluffy dough. Cover with a damp cloth, then with a dry one and leave to heat, to rise for approx. 20 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the form (it can be baked directly on the tray), without using oil, but just a little wax for greasing (you can also use baking paper). Divide the dough into 15 parts, knead and leave to flatten for a few minutes.
The shape of the prescuri can be round or in crosses, larger or smaller, depending on the seal of the prestolnic. Turn and apply the seal on the flattened side, then cover with a clean, damp cloth for 15 minutes. Leave it in the oven for 10-15 minutes on a higher heat, after which I simmer for approx. 30 minutes. After browning, remove, place face down on a cloth and cover with a damp cloth. The purpose of the damp cloth is to avoid the formation of a thick and hard crust on the face with the seal.
Delta Feast: At the Flower Table with Lipovans, April 25, 10-15
De Florii, for the Lipovans from Mila 23, grass is spread across the church, and during the liturgy, at a certain moment, they sit on their knees, with their foreheads bent on the grass. The gates of the houses are adorned with various green twigs or even flowers. At Florii, mackerel is especially cooked, either marinated, or malasolca, or fried.
As we have become accustomed to in recent years, fishermen from the Danube Delta bring us the joy of the Feast of Flowers in the museum at the "Feast of the Delta", cooking fish dishes, as before. In order to respect the social distance, this year it will be cooked, on Sunday, April 25, starting with 10 o'clock in three areas of the museum, respectively: the fisherman's household from Mahmudia, Tulcea county, the windmills area and at the Country Fair. Lipovan fishermen will cook fresh fish in the following ways: fried fish, meatballs (at the Country Fair), brine (at the Fisherman's Farm, Mahmudia) and fish soup (in the area of windmills). At the same time, in the oven from the Fishermen's Farm from Mahmudia, bread will be baked, according to old, Dobrogean recipes. The food will be served in all three locations between 12-15.
Recipes presented at the Delta Festival, 2021 edition:
"In the old days, when there were fish of all kinds I wanted, I used to do it. Now we cook depending on what we catch: If you have carp, you fry it, if you have perch, you make brine, if you have pike, you make meatballs, if you have big crucian, normally, you make soup. ”, Cătălin Mihail, fisherman (-cooker) from the village of Mila 23
After I catch the fish in a net or venison, especially carp and crucian, it is cleaned, crested, the jaws are removed and you give it a pinch of salt and leave it like this, between 30 minutes and two hours. Then heat oil in a pan. Before you put the fish in the hot oil, put a layer of flour on it, so that it doesn't stick or spread. In summer you eat fish with a salad of vegetables, and in the rest of the year, with mujdei. For me, when I was little, I liked greased fish. Now he doesn't cook like that.
The best brine is made from predatory fish. We put perch and pike most often. But it's also made of carp. You remove the mats on their ears, they do not eviscerate, they do not clean the scales. Put salt on the plate or tray, on what you have at home. And you put the fish on that salt. And keep it until it is like toast, let it burn a little. After that, when you take it off the board, you clean it with a knife so that it falls from the salt, because it has a lot on it and that burn, to some extent. Separately make a water with a little vinegar with garlic, tomatoes, parsley. Boil water, about six parts water and one part vinegar. If the fish does not have enough fish, add salt. When it boils, add the fish and let it boil for 5-10 minutes.
We do not lack the crucian carp, but to be big, beautiful, so that you have something to choose from. Put a perch, a pike's head, a sleeping head or a smaller sleep, said red and slimy for taste. Put the water to boil, prepare the potatoes, onions, peppers, tomatoes. Boil onions and peppers. When the onion turns yellow, a sign that it is cooked, add the potato cut into larger pieces.
When the potato is ready, put the fish, which was only then washed and cleaned, not the day before, here's the trick… and let it boil for 10-15 minutes. Then put tomatoes from the jar or fresh and a few stalks of larch. Add salt and vinegar to taste and lift the pot off the heat. Now coarsely chopped larch chicken generously. Serve with garlic sauce.
For meatballs, it's good to combine fad fish with fatty fish. Add to the mincer the pike, the slug and the boneless avat, the potatoes, the onion and the garlic. For color, add dill and a red pepper or donut, also given by machine. Be sure to add eggs to bind the composition. All this is mixed and seasoned with salt, thyme and pepper and left to soak overnight or at least 2-3 hours in the cold. Then shape into small balls and fry in oil until golden brown. It is eaten in summer with a salad or in winter with horseradish and vinegar.
